Embedded Delphi Database
TurboDB for VCL is the perfect replacement for Paradox or dBase in your Delphi and C++ Builder programs. Our database supports not only all features of those out-dated products but offers a range of additional possibilities as well and makes the migration pain free through compatible interfaces.
Other than with the Borland BDE, there are no components installed in the operating system nor necessary configuration settings. You control the complete database access directly from the application.
TurboDB for VCL consists of our proved database engine, the typical VCL components TdbTable, TdbQuery, TdbDatabase, TdbBatchMove, designers for many versions of Delphi, C++ Builder, Borland Developer Studio as well as the usual tools with documentation.
The components fit in the development environment in the familiar way and also the programming is identical to the well-known VCL data access components from the BDE.

TurboDB for VCL runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7
It works properly in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the 64 bit operating systems.

This database engine supports all relevant Borland/CodeGear development environments since version 5, i.e. Delphi 5, Delphi 6, Delphi 7 as well as C++ Builder 5 and C++ Builder 6 and the Studios starting from 2006 with all their personalities. This includes the Turbo editions as well.
The standard versions of some of the IDEs do not include support for database programming and are therefore not suited for TurboDB for VCL.
For Delphi Prism we recommend our pure .NET database TurboDB Managed.

:: Specialties
This Delphi database engine clearly exceeds the capabilities of Paradox and other database engines. You can for example restructure tables via the TdbTable component, store and process Unicode strings and create full-text indexes, which enable you to "google" for arbitrary keywords in the table.

As is the case with all dataweb database products, you buy a license per developer seat. The application you create based on our database can be distributed royalty-free, i.e. without any further fees. |
